Several weeks ago I found myself bored and distracted instead of working.

I was trying my best to be concentrated and to do my online job, but I kept navigating to Amazon instead.

They were running some really competitive online sales, and I couldn’t help but check out the deals that they were advertising that day. I was extremely excited when I found that they were selling a massive bulk pack of our favorite indoor air quality filters for an amazing price. I hadn’t ever seen these air filters at such an affordable cost before. Normally, when we go out and purchase these advanced HEPA filtration devices, we wind up shelling out quite a bit of money. That’s why, I jumped at the opportunity to purchase them in a massive multipack that would probably last us the next year or two. Unfortunately, I guess I was the only one who was excited about my air filtration find. When I told my husband that our HVAC system was in for a treat because I was purchasing 12 HEPA filters at once, he looked extremely downtrodden. Normally, he goes out to the hardware store and purchases 1 air filter a month. We can’t usually locate more than one HEPA filter at a time, and the filters are significantly more expensive at this hardware shop than you might believe. I thought I was doing everyone a favor by having extra HVAC filters on hand, but my husband didn’t see it that way. Apparently, I learned, he really looks forward to changing the air filter because it gives him a reason to go to the hardware store. Now he’s feeling disappointed to lose his monthly excursion in the name of HEPA filtration.

I can’t believe that it’s been almost 2 months since I quit my job. I was working full-time at a local craft brewery as a logistics manager… And it wasn’t as cool as that sounds. Sure, there were some perks. I got more free beer than you could ever imagine. However, when you start growing an inner tube around your stomach, even that benefit starts to wear thin. One of the things that I really hated about working in that environment was the air condition. I was confined to a small office near the production floor where at least I had some air conditioning on my side. The heat and humidity made it absolutely miserable in the rest of the production space. Unfortunately, the air conditioning system provided cool air but not fresh air. It regularly funneled the nasty indoor air directly off of the production floor and into my office. There were no filtration devices installed to remove airborne contaminants and unwanted odors. As a result, I was always being smacked in the face with noxious, smelly indoor air. It’s not so pleasant breathing in airborne yeast and fermenting particles all day. When people talk about smelling like a brewery, they really haven’t experienced the full extent of it.

I was delighted a few weeks ago and my aunt contacted me out of the blue and said that she wanted to come and stay with me. I thought it was only fair to give her the honest truth; my heating and cooling system is 10 years old, my air conditioning unit is entirely inefficient, and I have uneven hot and cold patches in my house sometimes. My aunt immediately started nitpicking over my HVAC maintenance plan and the age of my heating and cooling appliances. She asked me if I could have an air media purifier installed in the house before she visited and recommended several expensive HEPA air filters to purchase. I started to get a weird vibe about the whole thing. And then, she mentioned that her lease wasn’t being renewed and she might need to stay for longer than a few days. Ah, I see.

I was agitated at my father a long time ago when he threw out the luxurious gift that I got for him, and i got him a UV media air cleaner and he thought I was insulting him with such a gift, he asked myself and others if I was trying to say that he had exhausting air quality in his home.

I cried love deranged at the funeral and I even said I was sorry before he was lowered into the ground in the casket, however my siblings provided myself and others some comforting words though. They said after I stormed away back then, he fished the UV media air cleaner back out of the garbage and he absolutely started using it. I never thought I would end up with asthma.

No one in our family has ever had asthma, and I thought it was a condition that was hereditary. If someone had told me that asthma was also an environmental disease, I would have rethought my decision to live in the city. The doctor told me that all the pollution hurt my lungs. I never realized there was so much to think about when we were considering a new HVAC system. I honestly believe that having the air purification installed is the reason I have not had an asthma attack in the last two years. I am off most of my medications and feeling well enough to go outside without oxygen. The air purification system may have saved my life and added more time for me to enjoy my family.

My family loves celebrating the 4th of July.

Last year has caused me to rethink how we will celebrate this year.

Normally, we would have both ground fireworks and sky fireworks. We try to be very careful. We keep the children at a distance. Littler kids have hearing protection. We don’t shoot the fireworks off toward the trees. My husband hoses down our house so we don’t set our home on fire. Yes, we really set our home on fire one year, but it only burnt a few shingles. I wish he had thought about the air conditioning unit last year. It was a fluke firework that went sideways instead of straight up. Now that I think about it, no one could have predicted that the firework could go into the AC unit. Even now that I think back, I’m not sure how it happened. Instead of the firework shooting straight up in the air, it flew sideways across the yard, and went right into the AC unit. We watched the sparks flying from the air vents. It would have been pretty if we weren’t all horrified. Sparks flew up into the air and hit the eaves of the house. We could hear the popping and boom inside the air conditioner and then our lights went out. The huge surge somehow tripped the main breaker. Our home insurance wouldn’t pay for the damage to the house, or to replace the air conditioner. Luckily, the HVAC company gave us time to pay for the new air conditioning unit, but the house damage was still on us.

It can be really frustrating when you’re trying to start a life and people just don’t want to listen to you.

This has been the case in my life as my fiance and I have prepared for our marriage.

We wanted to have a really lovely wedding day, but we didn’t want to make it into a massive event that cost anybody a lot of money. We don’t have a ton of cash and the people that we associate with aren’t particularly wealthy, themselves. We decided to keep our ceremony small and to ask our wedding guests for practical gifts so we could get a jump start on our adult living. A lot of people didn’t listen, but some people got it exactly right. Our favorite gift actually is a central heating and cooling system that our extended family chipped in on together. They got us a new furnace and air conditioning system to install in our fixer-upper house. We’re extremely excited to have modern and eco-friendly air quality controls for our first home together. They took their kind gift a step further though. They also arranged so we would have a two-year service and maintenance contract with the heating and cooling repair shop located closest to our home. We don’t have to worry about a single air filter change, air duct cleaning, or God forbid, emergency repair service in the middle of the night. Everything is covered in the cost of the two year HVAC service contract. Now, we can focus on more important things than our energy bills and anticipated air temperature fluctuations. It’s time to start making babies to appreciate this amazing HVAC system.
