An air purification system saved my life.
I never thought I would end up with asthma.
No one in our family has ever had asthma, and I thought it was a condition that was hereditary. If someone had told me that asthma was also an environmental disease, I would have rethought my decision to live in the city. The doctor told me that all the pollution hurt my lungs. My husband and I moved to the outskirts and bought a small home. There was still pollution, but you could see the stars, unlike in the city. I was naïve to think my asthma would miraculously disappear because we moved. I had permanent damage. When we had our new HVAC system installed, the HVAC company asked if we would like to install HEPA air filters into our furnace and air conditioning unit. They told us that the system we had chosen would not accommodate them. I appreciated that he let us know this. He also said that HEPA air filters made a huge difference in the air quality, but we may want to consider having an air purification system installed, along with a humidifier for the winter. I never realized there was so much to think about when we were considering a new HVAC system. I honestly believe that having the air purification installed is the reason I have not had an asthma attack in the last two years. I am off most of my medications and feeling well enough to go outside without oxygen. The air purification system may have saved my life and added more time for me to enjoy my family.
