This winter we’ve seen lower heating bills

We have paid less in heating which was quite a surprise.

We live in the north, and are accustomed to specific things when it’s winter. Our aunt always laughs when we post videos shoveling snow or dealing with ice. However, we don’t mind the cold weather since winter is also our busiests season. We are near a ski zone that receives hundreds of visitors from across the world. The overflow of guests means they need good accommodation. For those who prefer not to stay at the lodges, we have 5 log cabins on our properties that we rent to them. These cabins have been our bread and butter for a decade now and we are so happy we made the move to invest in them. Each cabin is self-contained with one or two bedrooms. These are fully furnished, but guests do self-catering, and can use them as they please. Well, running the business has been a good experience, but there are also some issues we face. One of the biggest issues we’ve recently been facing is high energy bills. The price of energy is constantly increasing across the country, and we feel this as we manage the 5 cabins. Each cabin has a heating system that’s always running when there are guests around. Thankfully, this year hasn’t been too bad. We have paid less in heating which was quite a surprise. But, this is mainly because it’s been an unusually warm winter. This poses an issue because we rely on snow each winter to run our business. What will happen if the weather gets warmer and there’s less snow falling in the area? Will the skiing business, and our rental cabins lose business, or will guests still want to come and tour the area? Only time will tell.
