The HVAC specialist wanted to be paid up front.
I had to call the HVAC supplier because I had forgotten to have the air conditioner cleaned, and i had told my husband I would call, even though I forgot all about it. When I finally got in touch with the HVAC supplier, they weren’t able to send anyone to the condo for almost a week. I was hoping my pal and I wouldn’t get much heat before the HVAC specialist arrived. When he finally arrived, he told me he had to be paid up front, however at first, I was going to get the checkbook and pay him, but this didn’t make sense. I had never been asked for money up front, my next thought was to put the brakes on and think. I remembered my pal and I had a service and service agreement, and it still had another year on it. I told him about the service and service agreement. My buddy and I were to have free service and service for two years, and I still had another year on the agreement; He said that didn’t pay the service fee. I wasn’t sure he understood it was a ‘service’ and service agreement, and it was paid for when my pal and I bought the new air conditioner unit. He told me if I had a concern with paying, I could call the HVAC supplier and he would leave. I picked up my phone and called the HVAC supplier, and he left. I’m wondering if he had a job when he got back to the office! The person I was talking to was not truly cheerful when I told her about the service agreement and how he was demanding payment upfront.
