The furnace at work is stuck in the on position
I’m working in the office today, and the furnace is stuck in the on position. It is so hot in here that it feels like I am living inside of a furnace. it’s not even funny, although it feels like I’m inside of some sort of sitcom on television. The furnace just keeps running and running, and the hot air keeps blowing out of the air vents right above my desk. I have peeled off every piece of clothing that I possibly can, and I turned on the little fan that’s on my desk but it is no match for the massive commercial heating system that is stuck in their own position here at the office. I called them to the maintenance department, but they just laughed at me. They said that the heating system had been stuck in the on position for the past six hours, and that there was nothing that they could do about it. Apparently, the HVAC system is controlled by some sort of centralized hub that isn’t even on site at our office building. The people in the maintenance department told me that they had been on the phone for hours trying to get everything figured out, but it just wasn’t working. They ended up calling a local commercial HVAC company to have them come in and shut off the system manually because they couldn’t figure out any other way to do it and people were actually fainting because of the heat! I was never so happy to see an HVAC technician as I was that day!
