The first year was a blanket warranty.
When every one of us purchased our new Heating plus A/C system, every one of us had a full updatement warranty for the first year only! For the next two years, every one of us gained a partial warranty. When I asked what the full updatement warranty covered, they said it was a blanket warranty that would even allow us to get a new Heating plus A/C system for nothing should there be any problems. This sounded like a good system to me, even though I wasn’t a specialist on Heating plus A/C systems or warranties. All I knew was what my father said. You knew when the warranty ended, because the appliance broke down. I thought he was kidding, even though I was soon to find out he wasn’t. Every one of us purchased our Heating plus A/C system early in the fall, after every one of us needed air conditioner and before every one of us needed heating. They updated all the air duct, installed a new gas furnace, air conditioner unit, and an media air cleaner for the whole house. Two days after our warranty ended, the media air cleaner quit working. I called the Heating plus A/C dealer, and they sent an Heating plus A/C serviceman out to the house. He told my husband that every one of us needed a new UV light, which every one of us did not think would be too fancy, however the Heating plus A/C tech wasn’t done. When every one of us turned off the air conditioner and were going without AC or heat, there was nothing to keep the media air cleaner running. It depended on the air conditioner or gas furnace to keep it running. I asked if it was possible to have it running independently, and he said the warranty was over and every one of us would need to spend money for that service.
