The A/C at our vacation rental broke down

A few weeks ago, I booked a weekend getaway with a few of my friends. We stayed in a major city so that we could have some fun during our visit. We wanted to visit some of the local bars and attend a concert of one of our favorite bands. We have been to this city before and it’s one of our favorites, so we are very familiar with it. We love the food, the people, and of course the music scene. The city has so many music festivals each year, that it’s almost impossible to go to all of them. Anyway, when we are in this city, we typically rent a vacation home so that we can all stay in the same place. I was so happy when we found the perfect vacation rental. It had 4 bedrooms, a guest house, a pool deck with a built-in grill, a mini bar, and it also had a huge back yard. When we arrived at the house everything seemed perfect, but after a couple of hours, we realized that the air conditioner was broken. We immediately contacted the host to report the issue. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to get an HVAC technician to fix the A/C until the next day. Thankfully, the house had a few ceiling fans, and they were able to provide some relief. When the HVAC technician showed up, he explained that the A/C unit desperately needed to be serviced. I don’t know anything much about vacation rentals, but I would assume that getting the A/C regularly serviced should be a priority. The host was gracious enough to refund one night and we were happy that we had A/C for the rest of our stay.
