She got a great deal on a new HVAC system
It was just the other week when my daughter called me crying so much.
Her favorite houseplants were dying because her AC had failed while she was on vacation.
I did feel bad for her, but also not surprised that this was an issue she was facing. My daughter purchased this house three years ago, and I was so proud of her. While she did some upgrades, there were some crucial issues she chose to postpone. One issue was the roof that I felt needed to be replaced. The previous homeowner had been there for close to twenty years. And in all that time, he never replaced the roof. He’d only done patchwork to stop leaks and other issues on the roof. My daughter opted to keep the roof, and instead pay for repairs here and there. I knew it would have been better to incur the cost of a new roof that keeps making endless repairs. Second, my daughter chose to retain the old HVAC system that had been in the house for more than a decade. Again, I told her it would be a mistake to keep the aging HVAC system in her home. However, she felt this was the best thing to do, and save money. Well, her worst fear came true when the AC failed and now her home was without air conditioning. Fortunately, she found a local HVAC company to do a replacement for her, and even landed a great deal on the new HVAC system. Now, she won’t be worried about her houseplants for quite some time.
