Rushing to meet the minimum requirement of seer ratings

I grew up in a hot southwestern state and back then, most homes had the old AC units with seer ratings below 13.

  • Sustaining energy requirements has been a challenge for many until recently when rebates were introduced.

For a long time, residents have been spending more on energy bills because of these inefficient air quality systems. Most residents didn’t even know what range their ac units fell under, although on average they were between 8 to 9. Efficient by the standards of the time they were installed, they performed well but now times have changed. We now need more efficient systems that can withstand the hot weather in the southern region. When I moved up north for work, I realized that their ac systems are more efficient than what I grew up with. This gave me a chance to set up an HVAC business to supply the new HVAC systems with ratings above 13. A few homeowners had already shopped for this quality HVAC and had them installed. Personally, I am not a licensed HVAC contractor so I hired an ac/ workman to help fast track the sales and air conditioning installation. My business was perfectly timed because the law had made it clear that no resident should install or perform HVAC service. This gave me the opportunity to sell more HVAC equipment that meets the required standards. My sales were accompanied by an air conditioner service plan to encourage more homeowners to buy the state recommended radiant heater or cooling system. But being a hot region, the sale for portable space heaters was at an all-time low.
