Our heating didn’t heat the laminate.

Our oil furnace worked amazingly well, as long as you weren’t barefoot.

I hated wearing shoes in the house.

There was something about mucking up the scrub floors with the outside dirt. I liked the recognize of the carpeting between my toes, but not all the rooms had carpeting. There was cement in the kitchen and powder rooms. The two of us had hardwood flooring in every other room except our home offices. That’s why I took every opportunity I could to be in the home office. The cement and hardwood were so cold on my bare feet that my toes would cramp. I told my hubby that the two of us needed to do something about the freezing flooring. He called the HVAC supplier, and they commanded the two of us put the air ducts into the wall so they blew the heat across the flooring. I looked at the air vent covers, and knew it would only heat a small distance, and the two of us would need to make holes in the walls. I wasn’t fond of that idea. I asked what it would cost to have radiant heating in the flooring. The price he quoted was a bit more than I had thought it would be, but it was doable… When the HVAC supplier began talking about chopping up the flooring and putting heat tape or water pipes under the floor, I thought he was nuts. He didn’t recognize how much it had cost to install this flooring. I would let no a single tear them up. Then I thought about the cost of the plumbing and wondered where the warm water would come from. I told the HVAC supplier I would put up with the cold floors and find a pair of fuzzy slippers to keep my toes warm.
