Our birds our cold

Winter is a time where Thelma and Louise, the names of our 2 parrots, tend to hate.

I personally love winter but not them.

Their cage is in the living room right next to the window so they can enjoy something different. The living room isn’t quite the greatest when you spend your whole life mostly in the cage or in 1 room. I personally want to set them free but my wife would kill me! The birds were given to us from her late grandmother so I can see why she wouldn’t want to get rid of them. They have picked up some naughty words when they see the snow fall, words not suitable for children. When the snow falls they cuddle up to each other and shiver. I wasn’t sure if this is because they are scared of the white flakes hitting the trees and ground covering everything. I do let them out of the cage from time to time but one day the snow was coming down and I let them out and they attempted to fly to the heater and nestled up to it. They stopped shivering. I guess that must be the issue. Their cage is next to the window so there might be some chill factor involved with the snow. What can I do to help? I called my friend Pete who works at Pete and Pete heating service and he told me that I can try a space heater for them. I know I didn’t want to move their cage so this sounded like a great idea! I looked online for a space heater for sale and found one at our local store. This is perfect and the birds will be extremely happy! I guess I do care about them.
