My only heat source
I was forced to use our stove to heat our house, but I understand that using your stove to heat your house is not a wonderful idea, however it was just a single morning, so I thought that it would be okay, and my entire city lost all of its power for about twenty-four hours.
It was not that terrible because every one of us was told that it would happen ahead of time, even though I was told that I would lose power ahead of time, I forgot about it.
I am not the most responsible person in the world, & this proved it. I forgot to get a generator from a few of our friends, so I was actually without power for twenty-four hours. My number one source of heat was out, & it was only twenty degrees outside. I was so nervous that our pipes were going to freeze. I decided to try to use our stove for heat since it was a gas stove. I turned it on for an hour or so, & it actually helped. I have a pretty small house, so that a single stove kept our house above cold. I was so thankful because I thought for sure I was a goner. My neighbor who gave his generator to me was out of the area, or I would have gone to his house & picked it up; Thankfully, our gas stove was a good enough heat source to keep our house from cold, all turned out okay in the end thanks to our stove. It was a wonderful little oil furnace even though I would not request it as a first option. If I am ever desperate for a source of heat again, I will honestly use our stove.
