My grandfather chose to give me his house in his will
It’s always miserable losing appreciated ones.
Growing up I always cherished the times my Grandpa would bake the most delicious cookies, his spanish rice was excellent, driving through the country or even walking down the dirt road next to his house.
He honestly was an amazing guy! His death was not shocking as he has struggled a bit during the last few months. His dwelling was his last piece of love I have of him besides aged pictures and random quotes I recall him mentioning. His house though has taken a toll and is aged on a lot of things. I plan on moving in with my youngsters absolutely soon however I need to do some maintenance things first. The bathtub, god I love my Grandpa however that needs to go. My youngsters are a little older so I plan on removing the tub and just having a shower in the bathroom. I will be needing someone to check out the foundation as this is an entirely aged dwelling and don’t want any concerns with that down the line. I reached out to the local HVAC appliance business and wanted to get the oil furnace and the air filters checked out. I also told them I am thinking about getting radiant heated floors installed so possibly we can get a price check on that. I suppose I have to get the electrical equipment updated for the dwelling as well so I might have to do that before the floors are completely finished. He said no concern and he will have an HVAC serviceman come out first thing tomorrow. There is so much more to do however at least I have one more thing ticked off my to-do list.
