Installing a Programmable Thermostat Saved us Money

It was then that we learned that our old system was okay, but the bills were high because the unit could not easily adjust to temperatures, even when we were away from home

The past year has taught me tough money management lessons. I cannot be the only one who has panicked about the rising cost of living and managing essential bills; I’m sure most of you have felt it. My husband and I evaluated our statements at the end of last year, and our most lavish expenditure was from the air conditioning system. A quality HVAC unit is among the basic needs for every home in our area, so we could not do away with it. We had already ensured that our air conditioning filter was cleaned and changed to ensure it wasn’t overworked. So, we explored the cooling industry for the most efficient cooling technology since ours was not an energy saver. Our adventure took us through many new heat and AC products that our heads were left buzzing, and we had no idea what would be best. We called the HVAC tech who did our old air conditioning installation when we built the house three years ago, but they had retired from the industry. Luckily, we connected to a new contractor who took us through various cooling equipment options that would suit our needs. The HVAC professional insisted that whatever decision we made, our new HVAC must include a programmable thermostat if at we wanted to save on energy costs. It was then that we learned that our old system was okay, but the bills were high because the unit could not easily adjust to temperatures, even when we were away from home. We are about to do our annual bill audit, and I can already tell they will be lower this year based on a rough comparison with last year’s monthly billing. Before you switch off that AC or give it up, call your cooling expert for an upgrade.
