So what a difference clean air makes. The change in our indoor air quality is far more effective than I could have ever imagined. Had I known quality indoor air was this nice, I’d have gotten an air purifier a long time ago. To call it just an air purifier is a bit of a misnomer. What we have does indeed clean the air. But it’s not like one of those models that sits in the middle of the floor. Those air purifiers trap and remove airborne particulate from the indoor air. Ours is a bit different. The HVAC company actually installed a whole home air purification system inside the HVAC equipment in our garage. I think the HVAC technician said that the air purifier sits in the air handler of the HVAC unit. Anyway, it works with the HVAC unit to clean the air. The whole home air purification system doesn’t trap and remove as much as simply eliminate airborne contaminants. This is done by high intensity UV light. The air coming from the HVAC return is hit with this light and that destroys the DNA of the airborne hazards. The result is probably the best indoor air quality you can find. The whole home air purification system was a bit more expensive. But it’s totally worth it. I don’t have to clean any air purifier air filter and the thing is working all the time the HVAC is running. And where we live, the HVAC is basically running all year long. But now, our air is so fresh and clean it’s hard to believe it’s the same house!
