I’d always dreamed of having a formal dining room.
I had a new wood table made to fit my dining room. My next step, was to find wooden chairs with leather backs and seats. I was told that I could easily have the chairs made to go with the dining table, but I needed to find someone who would upholster them for me. My son-in-law helped to make the wooden chairs, and he also knew of a good upholsterer who would create the leather seats and back for me. I was sure that by christmas, I would have the eight leather chairs that I wanted to go in my formal dining room. My sister told me that she thought leather chairs didn’t belong in the dining room, but it wasn’t her house. I didn’t say anything to her about how God her home looked after shehired the interior decorator. I didn’t think she had a right to tell me what would and would not work in my formal dining room. When my chairs were done, and my table was set up in the dining room, I was thrilled. My new wood dining table and leather chairs, was exactly what I wanted. My husband asked if the dining room pleased me, and I gave him a hug. I asked how he felt about my leather chairs, and he told me they reminded him of his grandmother’s formal dining room.
