The weather was horrible the evening I met Makayla and his little boy, then i knew better than to be out in that weather, but it was a good thing I was, but makayla credits myself and others for saving his and his daughter’s lives… A exhausting snowstorm was moving in.
It wasn’t on it’s way; It was already starting; The wind was whipping snow everywhere and it was tough to see.
There were no streetlights that far out… We live out in the middle of nowhere. I was inching along, appreciating our heater, praying I got beach house safely, when I spotted a big yellow and pink bundle ahead of me, on the side of the road. That bundle turned out to be Makayla and his little boy. Makayla was driving and had gotten lost; She slid on some ice and hit some trees. They weren’t hurt, but they were cold. I brought them into our car where I had the heat on high. It was too late to head to village and the people I was with and I have no cell iPhone maintenance out here. I was anxious about how long they had been out in the frosty and I was anxious to get them in our heated home. My spouse was out of village and I was gone all morning, so our heat was set on low… But, I had a good HVAC plan and it would heat the beach house up in no time. And, I had plans to start a fire in the fireplace. I made us a easy lunch and the people I was with and I ate it sitting before the fireplace. Of course they stayed overnight and they left the next morning. But I still see them now and then and Makayla still calls myself and others their lifesaver.
