I like using charcoal filters in the ac system
My pets create an odor, even if I’m responsible for bathing them and keeping their areas clean.
The cats get their litter boxes changed more than once a day, and both of our dogs get bathed at least two to three times a week.
Even with all of this care, their body odors permeate the home within a few days. I started to feel like I would be living in animal odor forever with no way to improve the situation. I burned so many candles and only got diminishing returns as the smells would simply cover up the creature odors. Then you’d smell pine on top of dog and cat odor. When I started using essential oil diffusers, the odor reducing capabilities far exceeded that of my candles. However, it was clear to me at that point that I had no choice but to seek out air purification. I bought a plug-in air cleaner and then switched our air conditioner filters to the variety with a layer of charcoal crystals on one side. As the air moves through the filter, odors are absorbed by the tiny activated charcoal crystals stuck to the filter’s surface. You’d be surprised at how much of a difference one of these filters makes after it has been in use for at least 24 hours straight. Now I can’t imagine going back to a world where I would be using those old air conditioner filters again that don’t have activated charcoal spray on one side. The charcoal Heating and Air Conditioning filters aren’t just good for odors, they also absorb fumes, chemicals that are off-gassing from upholstery on furniture, and any toxins that could be in your indoor air as well. Those are the reasons why some swear by activated-charcoal-coated Heating and Air Conditioning filters.
