I hate going to the gym.

I have never liked to exercise! When I was younger, I ran 6 miles a day, but I did not consider that exercise, my running was chasing more than 2 children up and down our driveway more than 2 times a day, however all of us were the only people who lived on that 1 ½ mile stretch of dirt road; Going down and up down and up was a 6-mile trek, however the kids called it fun, but I called work… Since the kids got older, I find any kind of exercise work, and i had not seen the inside of the gym since my kids were in high university.

I have not run or even walked up and down that hill since my kids thought it was uncool to walk with me, and now, I am finding myself with the dilemma of going to the gym and losing some weight or having my health get worse.

As much as I hate going to the gym, I am going to swallow the hate and use it for the good, and every step I take going into that gym is going to be a single step closer to my weight goal, and I will never have to go into that gym again, and little did I suppose that by the time I got all the weight off, I was grateful to have the local gym, therefore me. They did not judge myself and others for my size or for how lacking I was in self-discipline. Everyone treated myself and others wonderfully when I walked into the gym the first day. I was shown the standard way to use all their machines, and was told how I could commit for water aerobics, and which afternoons they held classes. I found the local gym was much less distasteful than the gym both of us had in university.
