Helping my dad with new HVAC technology

I’m really thankful to have my old man so close by.

When my mom died, he really wanted to stay in the family home. But after about a year, he came to me to discuss making a big change. Since college, I’ve been living down south. My dad had spent his entire life up north battling those winters. He grew up in a home that had a giant boiler that produced radiant heating. But the house I grew up in had central air conditioning with a gas furnace for the winter. And that’s the same house that we ended up replacing the HVAC equipment in order to get it on the market and dad down south. He’s been here now for just over a year. We found a cool little house for him as he wasn’t at all interested in an apartment. Dad and I worked on this little place together as it needed so work. And that was so great because we spent some great time together. Finally, the last thing we needed to do was replace the heating and cooling equipment. Since we had been through this before when selling the family home, we sort of new what we were after. Yet, dad was hesitant when it came to the HVAC technology. However, I assured him that this HVAC technology was intuitive and the smart thermostat practically took care of itself. All it took was a few times of dad watching as I showed him the new HVAC technology. Now, he’s like an old pro and just loves the quality heating and air in his new place.
