Didn’t he trust me with the Smart Thermostat?
My boyfriend has a lot of strange quirks, but this one I couldn’t understand. I was going to be staying at his apartment while he took care of some family business. He was going to be away for almost two weeks and I was taking care of the apartment and the animals. I had the security alarm procedure, but I never thought about the Smart Thermostat. Two days after he left, I wanted to turn up the temperature on the thermostat. It was a bit too cool in the apartment for me to get comfortable. The thermostat didn’t respond to my changing the temperature. I called him and ask3ed how everything was going. I also asked if I needed to do something special to change the thermostat. I told him that when he left, he had the thermostat set at sixty-eight. I wanted to up it to seventy-two. He told me I needed a code to get into the HVAC system. Before he could tell me the code, I heard a furor in the background and he said he had to go. I pulled out one of my sweaters and curled up on the couch with a blanket. I don’t know if I’ll ask him about the thermostat again, because he seemed a bit hesitant about giving it to me. I am considering breaking up with him when he gets home. If he doesn’t trust me with the code for a thermostat, what else doesn’t he trust me with? If I didn’t like the animals so much, I would be heading back to my own apartment. I can’t do that to the dogs and the cat. I’ll just bring another weather over and maybe some warm pajamas.
