AC problems killed my Uber job

For a while I was making some pretty good money with my side hustle as an Uber driver.

I like to drive, so spending an extra 4 or 6 hours a day behind the wheel taking people from here to there didn’t even feel like work to me.

A lot of the passengers were very nice, some were weird, but mostly it was a very quiet, very chill job. Who knows how long things could have gone on that well if I didn’t encounter a major setback, one that made my vehicle useless for Uber passengers — the air conditioner broke. I could have continued the rest of the day taking customers, but I know they all would have marked me with poor reviews because of the A/C. I didn’t want to risk my permanent ratings because of a temporary problem, so I listed on my profile the A/C issues so that everyone would know up front. Getting a new A/C for the car was going to cost a whole lot more than I was able to pay. Is it normal to spend two thousand bucks to get a new air conditioning system, or am I just being a crybaby about this? For my own personal use, I can live without AC, maybe it’s not optimal but I can deal with it. Until I can get the AC up and running though I am done at Uber, and that is costing me a lot of money every single week. Maybe the mechanic will let me finance the AC work.
