A heat pump can heat and cool your home

Even though we had our hearts set on an electric heat pump, we decided to choose a gas furnace

A heat pump is a very interesting machine. It can both heat and cool your home. A heat pump moves air from indoors to outdoors or vice versa. During the colder winter months, the heat pump creates warm air by removing cold air from the house and replacing it with warm air. During the summer, the heat pump removes warm air from the house and replaces it with refrigerated cold air. An electric heat pump is an amazing machine and it is one of the most versatile heating and cooling products on the market. My family and I wanted to learn more about putting an electric heat pump in our house, so we called a contractor to discuss our options. Since we have a couple of days every year when the temperatures are below freezing, an electric heat pump is not ideal for our home and the region. The contractor felt that we would be better served with a central AC unit and a furnace. If we wanted to stick with an electric heat pump, we would need a second heating source for days when the heat pump would not work due to cold temperatures. The two of us felt it was senseless to buy two different heating sources when one of them would do just fine. Even though we had our hearts set on an electric heat pump, we decided to choose a gas furnace. The installation process was simple and easy and required no warning to the contractor. We called one morning and made an appointment for the following afternoon. They even had the make and model of the furnace in stock.
