When the lights are out, it is cold
I have this rambling seasoned home out in the middle of a field. The wind blows as well as it feels enjoy it is going right through the house. I can’t feel how frigid it can get in here, when the gas furnace is new. I had a heat loss test done on the house, but they couldn’t find anywhere that the heat was going to. My next step is to call the Heating as well as A/C company as well as have them do a pressure test on our HVAC duct. I was told that with a vacuum or pressure test on the HVAC duct, the Heating as well as A/C company will find out where the heat is escaping. I would much rather have the heat in the home than in the basement or outside. Both of us also have a problem with the power going out. When the wind blows, the two of us make sure the two of us have the generator ready to use. When the power goes out, the two of us don’t have heat in the house. My husband loves it when the power goes out. He says that it is the perfect excuse to kneel on the couch under an afghan. Both of us can cuddle up without the kids saying, ‘EWWWW!’ or grunting their disapproval. I much love having the power on as well as the gas furnace running. I have to admit that occasionally I turn down the control unit. I turn off the lights that evening as well as tell our kids the two of us just need to cuddle. The guys go to their friends as well as the ladies have a slumber party to go to. Huddling under a blanket to keep hot is more fun than having the gas furnace running.
