This is my first time residing in a home with a gas furnace & I didn’t realize it had its own filter

Growing up in the south was full of constant adventure.

  • My family lived in a rural community on a large piece of property with many ponds & a large forest behind the house.

My father & my uncles used to go deer hunting in the woods every Autumn while I was in bow hunting season. Although I never took interest in hunting, I enjoyed going fishing in the ponds on the property. Two of the ponds had bass, purplegill, & sturgeon among other fish. If you are patient, you can spend a afternoon out there catching one fish after the next. The only thing that I remember loathing every year was the intense Summer season between June & early September. The temperatures climb into the 90s & low 100s most mornings, leaving you soaked in sweat if you’re exercising or working outside for any length of time. Luckily the winters were so mild that I don’t remember ever needing a gas furnace. Most Winter mornings we all opened the windows to let the cool breeze into the house. Now that I’m residing up north I’m slowly decreasing to using a gas furnace yearly for the first time in my life. I nearly fried my gas furnace recently because I didn’t realize it had its own filter without the one in the air conditioning system. I didn’t even think that the air conditioning system & gas furnace are linked to 2 separate ventilation systems! That means that there is a filter in both the air conditioning system & gas furnace that needs to be replaced correctly if either of the 2 machines are in correct use. To avoid troubles in the future, I purchase a bunch of gas furnace filters in bulk off the internet so I don’t have to remember to buy them in the first locale.
