The hotel only had a room on the fifth floor

I am absolutely and totally afraid of heights.

It actually makes me feel deathly afraid.

I never stay anywhere above the second floor and even then I feel very worried and panicked. I made a reservation at a hotel downtown when I had to attend a convention. I did not want to stay in the hotel, but my boss insisted that I stay with the rest of the group. I told the hotel clerk that I had to get a room on the first floor. She told me that the first floor was only for patients that were handicapped. I then requested a room on the second floor. The woman promised to do everything possible, but to be honest, she didn’t sound very convincing to me. When I arrived at the hotel to check in, I found out that my room was on the 5th floor. I immediately started to freak out and I had a panic attack. I called my boss and I told the guy that I was going home. He tried to tell me that I had to stay at the hotel, but I honestly didn’t think it was legal for him to force me to stay in the hotel as long as I showed up for all of the daily events. I tested the theory the next day when I showed up for the 9 a.m. conference. My boss didn’t say anything to me when I walked into the conference room, but he didn’t ask me to leave either. It was a very cold morning, but the afternoon was a little better.
