The appliance company didn’t tell me about regular gas line service and repair

I’m not a professional chef, but I’ve been cooking most of my own meals since high school.

Since I worked in kitchens up until my early 30s, I learned that food service was an industry I wanted to avoid for long term work.

The thought of having a career in food immediately gives me anxiety and makes my heart rate increase for a few moments until I get my mind on something else. At least I can do all of my cooking within my own kitchen instead of the hectic and stressful environment of a commercial kitchen. I set my own time constraints and choose my own ingredients and the meals to cook out of them. It’s a relaxing experience for me after being at work all day slaving away behind a computer screen until my eyes droop and my head starts to ache. There’s always a long process of stretching my leg muscles and feeling comfortable to walk long distances again. This weekend was supposed to be special because I was going to cook all of my meals for the week on my gas stovetop that I’ve been using for the past two years now. Unfortunately, the appliance company that sold me the gas range and stove didn’t tell me about regular gas line service and repairs if I don’t stay on top of maintenance. This is my first time dealing with a gas line so I had no idea about maintenance. Thankfully my plumbing company offers gas line maintenance as part of their service contract package, so I opted for a yearly subscription.
