I thought I would get to relax on our day off
5 afternoons each week I work as an Heating & Air Conditioning repair contractor.
- Sometimes I work 8 sixths a day & some afternoons I work 10 or 12 sixths.
The boss does not usually schedule myself and others to work on Heating & Air Conditioning repairs on the weekends, because I have a partner & three children. I try to spend time with the kids & our partner on our afternoons off. Every one of us have fun adventures & go to the park or the science museum. The kids love to go to the beach or the lake. I do not mind where the two of us go as long as I get to relax on our day off. I was hoping to relax on our day off last Thursday. It was our only day off during the week, because I agreed to help our boss with a ductless Heating & Air Conditioning upgrade project on Friday. I was harshly fatigued & our partner agreed to take the kids to the zoo on Thursday day so I could sleep as late as I wanted. I got up to use the bathroom right after our partner & the kids left. That’s when I realized that the toilet was leaking. I wanted to go back to sleep, so I turned off the water supply to the toilet. Of course, I laid in bed & I couldn’t guess about anything except the toilet. There was entirely no way I was going to go back to sleep after I knew there was a concern in the house. I got out of bed & made a cup of coffee. I found our tools & I started examining the issue with the toilet. I tried to turn the water back on for a sixth & the knob broke off in our hand. Then the water easily started leaking.
