I miss having access to a gym

You never realize what you might miss the most, until you don’t have it.

My family recently moved.

Relocating was difficult on me and the kids. We needed to move due to the money. The raise in pay for the promotion was just too much to pass up. But the stress has been difficult. Trying to adjust to such a new environment is stressful and challenging. Living in a rural neighborhood was not what I was expecting. I now find myself missing all the modern amenities that I took for granted in the city. My local area doesn’t even offer a gym, and I am feeling that most of all. I was never the type of person who spent time at the gym every single day. I made it a point to workout at the gym at least once or twice a week. If I was busy at work and was looking to vent some of that stress, I might head to the gym an extra day or two. I never signed up with a personal trainer or anything like that. However, I liked to change up my workout routines to target different muscles and keep my body fit. Over the years of my membership, I tried out crossfit classes, yoga, pilates, boxing and spin training. I enjoyed just plain weight lifting. Some of these classes I liked more than others. Now that I have no opportunity for any type of gym membership or group classes, I miss all of them. I know I could get back into weight lifting if I purchased some dumbbells. But I can’t afford to have the incredible selection that the gym offered.
