I don’t like it when the power goes out

I’m never very happy when the power goes out in my home. This doesn’t happen all that often, but when it does, it seems to happen at the most inconvenient times. The last time it happened, it was the middle of the summer season when everybody was utilizing their cooling systems. Now, unless you have solar panels, wind mills, or some sort of back up generator, then you were like me and no longer had a working cooling system! This was shocking and fortunately, I have a small set of solar panels attached to an emergency power supply. This allowed me to run one window AC unit in my house until the power eventually came on. It was a very stressful period of time. I was only able to hook up that one window A/C unit, nothing else. I was blasting my tunes on the stereo before the power went out too. I couldn’t do that anymore, but I did decide to play music on my phone. Thankfully, my phone was at full charge and I have a portable phone charger as well that would give me at least another full charge when my battery was low. Now, a long time ago, I believe it was last winter, the power went out then too! Because it was snowing, I was not able to charge the backup power supply. The only thing I had to keep warm was the fireplace and the ventless gas heater in the basement. Other than that, my central heating system would not work and I had to go an hour before the power came back on. The fireplace kept me cozy though, so I was thankful for that.
