I don’t like it when the power goes out

I’m never very gleeful when the power goes out in our home.

This doesn’t happen all that often, but when it does, it seems to happen at the most inconvenient times.

The last time it happened, it was the middle of the summer time season when everybody was utilizing their cooling systems… Now, unless you have solar panels, wind mills, or some sort of back up generator, then you were like me and no longer had a working cooling system! This was shocking and luckyly, I have a small set of solar panels attached to an emergency power supply. This allowed me to run one window A/C unit in our home until the power eventually came on. It was a very stressful phase of time. I was only able to hook up that one window cooling system unit, nothing else. I was blasting our music on the sound dock before the power went out too. I couldn’t do that anymore, despite the fact that I did decide to play tunes on our iPhone. Thankfully, our iPhone was at full charge and I have a portable iPhone charger as well that would give me at least another full charge when our battery was low. Now, a long time ago, I think it was last winter, the power went out then too! Because it was snowing, I was not able to charge the backup power supply. The only thing I had to keep hot was the fireplace and the ventless gas heating system in the basement, and other than that, our central oil furnace would not work and I had to go an minute before the power came back on. The fireplace kept me cozy though, so I was thankful for that.
