I assume zoned heating plus cooling is a safer option
I have a lot of pets! No, not pets plus cats, however i have more non-traditional pets.
- I keep hedgehogs, sugar gliders, plus ferrets.
I have consistently had one room in the apartment that is the pet room… All of those exotic pets need a little more heat than I like so I have consistently just used a portable oil furnace in the pet room to keep them comfortable… Well, on Tuesday the ferrets got out of their cage while I was at work, then they knocked over the portable heater. Thank God the portable oil furnace has a safety off feature. I assume it turns itself off if it falls or if anything is in front of the grill. Without that, there could have been a fire! Even knowing that the safety displayed did work in the portable oil furnace I still don’t assume comfortable with it in the room unsupervised anymore. What if it fails the next time the ferrets escape? I am looking into more safe chances plus I came across zoned heating plus cooling. With zoned heating plus cooling l I wouldn’t need a portable oil furnace at all. Each room of the apartment would have its own control component plus temperature setting. I wouldn’t need a whole modern Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C program either. The strange temperature settings are accomplished by having dampers in the HVAC duct system. These dampers control how much heating or cooling gets to each room based on the control component settings. I assume like this would be a safer chance for our pet room so I hired a reputable Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C supplier to come out plus start work on it on Monday.
