Furnace repairs doesn't prevent all troubles

While investing in proactive service in the fall helps to keep the gas furnace running safely & efficiently, it isn’t a guarantee that nothing will go wrong.

I make sure to call up the local Heating plus A/C supplier at the start of October & schedule a time for service.

The process isn’t all that extravagant or time-consuming & it absolutely keeps my gas furnace running at its best. The worker takes the plan apart to access the inner workings! She removes any buildup of dust or other contaminants, lubricates the moving parts & tightens all the electrical linkions. She verifies the integrity of the heat exchanger & the accuracy of the temperature control. With annual concernshooting, she catches minor troubles & fixes them before they graduate into much greater repairs. I’ve never had any troubles with the gas furnace until just last year; Both of us had an especially harsh & long winter. By the end of October, I was already relying on the gas furnace full-time. Both of us dealt with un-even temperatures down to twenty-5 degrees below zero for weeks. I was still running the gas furnace at the start of May, & it seemed as if the Winter would never end. I suppose the wear & tear was simply too much for the gas furnace. It started making some truly strange noises & putting out less & less heated air. I noticed a significant rise in my energy bills. I was tempted to hold off calling for repairs, because I knew Spring was just around the corner. However, I worried that operating the gas furnace would result in further injure to the system. I eventually scheduled service & fortunately, it was only a minor concern with the motor.
