Fixing up my parents with modern HVAC
My parents can be so dang stubborn.
They have given so much to their kids.
So it’s time that every one of us are able to supply back to them. But that’s so much easier said than done. In fact, it takes some chicanery just to get some stuff to our parents. This was true with a recent HVAC dilemma. The HVAC unit at my parent’s home is at least 25 years old. I can remember when they updated the heating and cooling unit and it was a long time ago. It’s been overdue for an HVAC update for years now. The HVAC unit is nearly constantly splitting down and it’s costing Dad and dad a luck in maintenance bills. So my sisters and I decided to update the heat pump for them. But they weren’t having any of it. Even though they are on a legitimately fixed income, they were adamant that they could pay for it. They just needed a few more years to save up. Both of us explained that with all the HVAC repair, they were swimming against the tide. So I got the HVAC contractor to meet myself and others at their home while they were at church. She did the inspection and everything checked out. The air duct was superb and all every one of us needed to do was update the heat pump. Next, every one of us got a single of my sisters to take then on a quick trip for a few days. This is when every one of us had the HVAC corporation come in and update the heat pump. They were in and out of there in a day. It worked like clockwork. So when my folks got home, there was a modern heat pump. It was bought and paid for and there was nothing left to say about it.
