The HVAC unit at my doctor’s office broke down
I had my yearly checkup scheduled for tomorrow, but I just received a call from my doctor’s office informing me that their air conditioner broke, and the office will be closed until they can get a new unit installed. I tried to reschedule my appointment, but I was not given a new date. His assistant told me that she would call me back next week to schedule a new appointment. Apparently, it’s going to take a few days for the office to get a new HVAC unit installed. This is happening all over the county where HVAC companies are not able to keep up with the demand. Supplies are low and there is a labor shortage within the industry. So, a lot of HVAC providers are having to place their clients on a waiting list to get repairs done. A few weeks ago, one local company was on the news saying that they are behind on service calls. The spokesperson basically said that if the situation is not an emergency call, then the customer will need to wait for service. I know that some people will grow impatient, but this problem is impacting HVAC companies all over the country. There has been a backlog in the industry because a lot of HVAC manufacturers had to shut down operation and they are facing labor shortages because of the pandemic. And not to mention that the trucking industry is getting hit hard as well, so parts and equipment are not making it to the warehouses in a timely manner. I just hope that my doctor’s office will be able to get their A/C back up and running as soon as possible.
