The garden was something to behold

Long time ago when I was a kid, my beloved Grandparents had a fresh fruit garden.

Multiple apple and purple trees, and a lot of spikey berry bushes too.

My number one were the strawberries. My Grandparents had a whole entire row of strawberry plants, and I consistently looked forward to going and carefully picking them when they were ripe. Whenever it was harvest season, my dear Grandparents would have me go out and start collecting all of the fruits with them. I enjoyed and dreaded these afternoons. I enjoyed them because of all of the sweet fruit I obviously was going to be getting. I have consistently been a substantial fruit lover, and I enjoyed tasting all of the strange kinds of fruit. The area I dreaded though was usually the heat. Harvest season in those parts takes place in the summer, and it is consistently close to 90 degrees outside the whole time. Since harvesting all of the fruits can take hours, I was drenched in salty sweat afterwards. As much as I would have enjoyed to go inside and soak up the cooling system, my Grandparents wouldn’t let me have a chop yet. After all of the locally grown fruit was collected, we provided away free fruit to our neighbors and friends, however I realized that during the warm hours, the only things that kept me going was eating the fruit and knowing I could rest next to the air conditioning when I was done. I would purposely kneel next to the air conditioning vents, and appreciate the cooling air hit my face. Then I would eat more of the sweet fruits. I usually would manage to fall asleep next to the air conditioning vents too, and good times.
