I wasn't ready to go home just yet

It was 105 degrees on Saturday.

I didn’t want to spend all day at the house with the kids.

I knew they would be miserable and I didn’t want to listen to them inside of the house all day. Our AC hasn’t been working very well. I think the AC needs to be cleaned or serviced. The indoor temp never gets very cold, even with the thermostat set at 72. I decided to take all of the kids to the Aquatic Center instead. It was packed with people, but I told the kids to be careful and maintain their distance. I frequently gave the kids hand sanitizer throughout the day and we tried to be as safe as possible. When it was time for lunch, the kids and I sat at a picnic table and enjoyed all of the items that I brought from the house. I made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for each one of the kids. I made myself a tuna salad sandwich with lettuce and tomato and extra mayo. The kids had cookies when we were done and each one of them had a juice box. After we were done eating, the kids went back to the pool. My husband called me an hour or two later. He was on his way home from work. I told him that I took the kids to the pool and he offered to join us instead of going home. He didn’t want to sit in the house either. Since I wasn’t ready to leave yet, I agreed to wait for my husband. He showed up at the Aquatic Center about an hour later. The kids were really surprised to see him and they played for hours.
