I came home from a vacation to find that I need security system service
My recent vacation was in the planning stages for the past three years straight.
- Initially I was supposed to go abroad during the summer of 2020, but that trip was canceled after the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As that dragged on and on, I had to put off any hopes of traveling out of the country for leisure. It was frustrating but I understood why we couldn’t go. For one, we were among tens of thousands of people who shared a similar fate with their summer vacation plans, and that’s an understatement. We simply spent more time in state parks in our area when they weren’t closed for COVID restrictions. We also had a lot of time to plan a better vacation for the future when we could finally start traveling around the country again safely. The trip we eventually took involved a drive across several states into the deserts of the southwest. Then we drove north into the mountains before driving back east again. I thought I had prepared the security system long before we left our house, but when we returned it was failing. There were sensors going off indicating that it was losing communication with zones upstairs on the second floor of the house. Thankfully we had absolutely no signs of break ins, so we were lucky that our home security system failed now instead of during a break-in attempt. This made me realize that we need to always get security system service before leaving for long periods of time. Our home security system protects us against robbers and thieves, and the more incidents that happen in our city, the more I worry we’re going to get closer to it actually happening on our own turf.
