Good air quality is crucial

I thought this was a bit excessive at first, but so many residents have respiratory concerns, so it’s imperative that it’s done this often

My job is a nurse and I work in a retirement apartment near my house. It’s easily one of the most difficult, yet rewarding jobs I have ever done. After spending years in the fast-paced world of the local hospital’s emergency room,, I thought that slowing down into a retirement apartment would be easier on my mental health. It’s slower paced than the emergency room, but I still experience stress and heartache on a pretty common basis. I’ve learned a lot about senior citizens and the way these homes operate. When I used to visit my Grandma in a retirement home, I remember noticing how chilly and clear the air felt! Now that I work here, I know first-hand that our air quality and Heating, Ventilation and A/C system is checked. It’s required that air conditioning service be done every month at our facility to ensure the air quality is in tip top shape for our residents. Our immune systems weaken as we all grow older in age, so it’s really pressing that the air that we breathe is clean and sterile. Our regular air conditioning repairman upgrades the air filters and tests our whole-new home air purifier once every other week. I thought this was a bit excessive at first, but so many residents have respiratory concerns, so it’s imperative that it’s done this often. Some people know that exposing our immune systems to mid-quality air would be alright for them, but this mainly applies to only children and teenagers. It’s hard for our residents’ immune systems to become stronger with time once they have reached a certain age, so by the time they become a resident, they honestly need the best quality air to remain healthy for the rest of their life.
