I set up a pet grooming place a while back, and snowy months were the busiest seasons.
Mutts were everywhere outside in the wet, dirty snow, and got so filthy more quickly than you would want to know.
The pet place was always overflowing during the snowy times, as owners wanted to keep their pets clean for Winter holiday visitors plus Christmas card photos. It was crucial for us to keep the heat pump running while we’re grooming the mutts. Mutts are susceptible to temperature adjustments, plus being wet and cold could be hazardous to their immunity. We were always hot and dripping with sweat while doing the grooming, yet it was vital that the mutts stay at an ideal temperature while we’re washing them. We’d have the thermostat set at about 72 while we’re grooming, and keep shifting it up plus down all the time. We also made sure to have the heat pump evaluated before the cold weather hit so we didn’t have any issues on a snowy afternoon. The excellent news was, the pet place had used the same Heating plus Air Conditioning servicing enterprise for years. These people would always send out a professional to examine our heat pump. Last year, I had a few more floor vents added to the space to keep the mutts from shivering in the Winter! It was a good thing to do! There were fewer cold spots in the space, plus it absolutely benefitted the HVAC as it ran more efficiently. The heat was being spread more evenly, so we’d run the heat pump at a lower temperature. Since we had an efficient heating unit for Wintertime grooming, the business did so well.
