The thermostat had loose wiring

Gabriel was home for summer. After a whole year away in college, his parents weren’t playing when they asked him to come home. He had planned to go on vacation with some friends but opted not to. His sister and brother had called him crying and wanted him to come home. The college had been fun, but he admitted he missed being at home. That first week back, all he did was take his siblings to the beach and mall for some time together. One afternoon, they got back home after a day at the mall. The house was hot despite Gabriel leaving the AC unit on. Summer was so hot and humid that the HVAC system was always on to blow ample cold air to the house. He went to check the thermostat and realized the cooling unit had shut down. Since he didn’t have much experience with central heating and cooling units, he called his dad. Gabriel’s dad sent him contacts of the HVAC company responsible for repairs and maintenance on their home. An hour after reaching the AC business, an air conditioner mechanic pulled up in their driveway. The kids were out back playing in the small pool, so Gabriel led the AC expert to the thermostat. He began checking the cooling unit for any signs of damage and noticed some loose wires on the thermostat. Over time, wires connecting the air conditioner to the panel box had become loose. Some of the cables were so far gone that they’d disconnected from one another, causing the AC unit to fail. The HVAC system expert took time to replace all damaged AC wires then cleaned the air conditioner filter to prevent any more problems. Gabriel was happy the AC was blowing cold air into the house once more.
