The frosty season is a bit much for the birds to deal with

Winter is a time where Thelma & Louise, the names of our 2 parrots, tend to hate.

I actually love Winter, however not them.

Their cage is in the living room right next to the window so they are able to enjoy something different. The living room isn’t quite the most enjoyable place when you spend your whole life mostly in the cage or in 1 room. I personally have the wish to set them free however my wife would kill me! The birds were given to us from her late Grandma so I can see why she wouldn’t want to get rid of them. They have picked up some naughty words when they are watching the snow fall, words not suitable for children. When the snow falls they were able to cuddle up to each other & shiver. I wasn’t sure if this is because they are scared of the snowflakes hitting the trees & ground covering everything. I do let them out of the cage at different times however a single afternoon the snow was coming down & I let them out & they attempted to fly to the gas heating equipment & nestled up to it. They stopped shivering. I believe that must be the actual drawback. Their cage is next to the window so there might be some chill factor involved with the snow. What can I do to help? I called my good buddy Pete who works at Pete & Pete heating repair & he told me that I can try using a section furnace for them. I suppose I didn’t want to move their cage so this sounded like it would work! I looked online for a good section gas furnace for sale & found something good at our local store. This is perfect & the birds will be harshly glad! I believe I do thoroughly love them.

The birds don’t care for the winter too much

The frigid months is a time where Thelma and Louise, the names of our 2 parrots, tend to not be comfortable.

I personally adore Winter however not them.

Their cage is in the kitchen straight next to the window so they can actually appreciate something different. The kitchen isn’t quite the greatest when you spend your whole life in the cage or in 1 room. I personally want to set them free however my partner would certainly kill me! The birds were given to us from his late Grandmother so I can see why he wouldn’t want to get rid of them. They have picked up some relatively naughty words when they see the snow fall, words not suitable for youngsters. When the snow falls they cuddle up to each other and shiver. I wasn’t sure if this is because they are scared of the white flakes hitting the trees and ground covering everything. I do let them out of the cage from time to time however one afternoon the snow was coming down like crazy and I let them out and they attempted to fly to the heating appliance and nestled up to it. They stopped shivering. I know that must be the actual setback. Their cage is next to the window so there might be some chill factor involved when it comes to the snow. What can I do to help? I contacted my buddy Pete who works at Pete and Pete heating appliance service and he told me that I can try an area furnace for them. I know I didn’t want to transport their cage so this sounded essentially like a wonderful idea! I looked online for a nice area furnace for sale and found one at our local store. This is great and the birds will be seriously blissful! I know I do enjoy them immensely.

My dog definitely prefers colder temperatures

Weird he never chooses to greet us at the door

Every year my husky struggles during the warm season. He is older and absolutely doesn’t really enjoy being outside in July and especially August. The rest of the year it is pretty tough to get him in the cabin though. He loves chasing the leaves as they fall, rolling in the snow during the frigid months and unfortunately he loves to puddle jump and get muddy during the Spring. The hot weeks though you can always find him lying right next to the vent that the central air conditioner machine comes from. It’s his home after all. He loves it so much so he brings his toys over to it and drags his dog bed along with it. My partner tries to transport it at times to vacuum and our husky simply gives us the greatest puppy dog look ever. It’s not exactly like we are ruining his life however to him it seems that way. The rest of the year he doesn’t care where his bed is, however we tend to transport it next to the gas fireplace. Mainly because he is always wet and this entices him to lay in it and dry off faster. Only problem is we have to wipe the dog bed a lot! He made pretty good friends with the HVAC worker. Every Spring when he shows up our dog wags his tail and greets him at the door. Weird he never chooses to greet us at the door. After any air conditioner machine service is done our husky does his goodbye dance with the cooling worker and runs to his bed and drags it over to the air conditioner machine vent. He is prepared!

The summer season is tough for my husky

Every year my husky struggles a good amount during the summer.

He is older plus certainly doesn’t appreciate being outside in June plus especially August.

The rest of the year it is relatively taxing to get him in the condo though. He prefers chasing the leaves whenever they fall, rolling in the snow during the frosty season plus unfortunately he prefers to puddle jump plus get muddy during the Spring. The overheated weeks though you can essentially always find him lying right next to the vent that the central air conditioning equipment comes from. It’s his place. He prefers it so much so he brings his toys over to it as well as drags his dog bed along with it. My spouse tries to transfer it at times to vacuum plus our husky just gives us the biggest puppy look ever. It’s not like we are ruining his life but to him it looks like that is what we are doing. The rest of the year he doesn’t care where his bed happens to be but we tend to transfer it next to the gas fireplace. Mainly because he is wet a lot plus this entices him to sit in it plus dry off very quickly. Only issue is we have to scrub the dog bed a lot! He made good pals with the Heating plus A/C specialist. Every Spring when he shows up our dog wags his tail plus greets him at the door. It definitely is strange that he never greets us at the door. After any air conditioning equipment repair is done our husky does his goodbyes with the cooling specialist plus runs to his bed plus drags it over to the a/c vent. He is most definitely prepared!

My husky has a hard time with the summer season

Every year my husky struggles a great deal while in the summer.

He is older plus really doesn’t care about being outside in the summer season.

The rest of the year it is extremely difficult to get her in the home though. He loves chasing the leaves as they fall, rolling in the snow while in the Winter plus unluckily he loves to puddle jump plus get muddy while in the Springtime. The tepid months though you can regularly find him lying right next to the vent that the central air conditioning comes from. It’s his home. He loves it so much so he brings his toys over to it plus drags his pet bed along with it. My fiance tries to move it at times to vacuum plus our husky just gives us the biggest puppy ever. It’s not quite like we are ruining his life however to him it seems as though that is what we are doing. The remainder of the year he doesn’t care where his bed is, however we tend to move it next to the gas fireplace. This is mainly because he wet a lot plus this entices him to kneel in it plus dry off more quickly. Only issue is we have to clean the pet bed on a regular basis! He made pretty good friends with the HVAC appliance worker. Every Springtime when he shows up our pet wags his tail plus greets him at the door. Weird he never greets us at the door. After any air conditioner appliance repair is done our husky does his goodbyes with the cooling worker plus runs to his bed plus drags it over to the air conditioner vent. He is totally prepared!

The way things go in the summer with my dog

Each year my husky struggles during the warm season. She is older and absolutely doesn’t care about being outside in June and especially July. The rest of the year it is seriously difficult to get her in the home though. She loves chasing the leaves as they fall, rolling in the snow during the Winter time and unluckily she loves to puddle jump and get muddy during the Springtime. In the hot months though you can constantly find her lying right next to the vent that the central a/c comes from. It’s her home. She loves it so much so she brings her toys over to it plus drags her dog bed along with it. My hubby tries to transfer it at times to vacuum and our husky just gives us the largest puppy ever. It’s not as though we are ruining her life however to her it looks sort of like that is what we are doing. The rest of the year she doesn’t care where her bed is, however we tend to transfer it next to the gas fireplace. Mainly because she is wet a lot and this entices her to lay there and dry off faster. Only issue is we have to clean the dog bed a lot! She made best buddies with the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C specialist. Every Springtime when she shows up our dog wags her tail and greets her at the door. Weird she never greets us at the door. After any a/c repair is done our husky does her goodbyes with the cooling specialist and runs to her bed and drags it over to the cooling device vent. She is prepared!

Keeping my dog warm at home while I’m away at work

This winter, I ran into a bit of a problem concerning whether or not I should shut off my heat when I was away from home.

Now, if I did not own a dog, this would be a no-brainer.

I’m gone for 12 hours a day during my work week, so naturally, I’m inclined to save on heating for the equivalent of two and a half days a week! But, I have my loyal and loving dog at home, who eagerly waits for me to return. I hate the thought of him shivering, curled up in a corner waiting for his dear master to come back to him every day! Being gone for so long five days a week is just something that he has to deal with, so I wanted to make it as comfortable as possible for him. The question was though, did that necessitate me running my heat for him while I was gone? Well, I decided that wasn’t necessary. I merely needed to accommodate him in a different and cheaper way to ensure that he was warm. I decided to invest in a radiant heater for my dog, as well as a warm and comfortable bed. I made sure the space heater was of the extremely safe sort. It shuts off when it’s knocked over, for example. I set up the radiant heater and my dog’s warm and comfortable bed in one corner of the living room so that he would be able to retreat to the cozy spot when thing’s got a little too brisk for him.
