Going old school
I needed to use my stove to heat my house.
- I guess that using your stove to heat your home is not a wonderful idea, but it was just one day, so I thought that it would be okay, and my entire neighborhood lost power for about twenty four hours.
It was not that bad because we were told that it would happen ahead of time, and even though I was told that I would lose power ahead of time, I ended up forgetting about it. I am not the most responsible woman in the world, and this proved it. I forgot to get a generator from one of my friends, so I was genuinely without power for twenty-more than three hours. My only source of heat was out, and it was only twenty degrees outside. I was so afraid that my pipes were about to freeze. I decided to try to use my stove for heat since it was a gas stove. I flipped it on for an hour or so, and it genuinely helped. I have a pretty small house, so that one stove kept my home above cold. I was so thankful due to the fact that I thought for sure I was a goner. My friend who gave her generator to myself and others was out of town, or I would have gone to her home and picked it up, then thankfully, my gas stove was a wonderful enough heat source to keep my home from cold, then all turned out okay in the end thanks to my stove. It was a great looking gas furnace although I would not request it as a first option. If I am ever desperate for a source of heat again, I will genuinely use my stove.
